Mid-Canada AOAC Day is Manitoba’s largest annual scientific conference and trade show.  It has been very successful over the years, attracting scientists, chemists, biologists, technologists, laboratory managers and other scientific professionals from private and public laboratories in and around Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Last year’s AOAC Day attracted over 150 delegates.  There were seminars, training workshops, equipment/supplies exhibits, a luncheon and a featured keynote speaker.

We are making some changes this year that we believe will make this an even better experience for you.  The conference has been moved to the University of Winnipeg which offers infrastructural advantages.  There will be labs on site where full demonstrations can be set up with the facilities and equipment you need.  This includes water taps and sinks, fumehoods, and benches with scientific equipment.  This also allows for more connection between the conference and the university.  In order to facilitate communication between exhibitors and attendees, there will be no longer be speakers during the lunch session, and lunch will be in the exhibition hall, adding to the snack breaks for time for communication.

In addition, we are always very interested in providing scientific training to our members so if you have any suggestions please contact me or provide details with your registration. We have had very successful training sessions in recent years and are planning having at least two more training sessions again this year.

AOAC Scientific Symposium will be advertised to all our members, at universities and laboratories in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.  Participating firms are invited and encouraged to inform their clients of the exhibit.
