{"id":27608,"date":"2017-09-27T20:00:41","date_gmt":"2017-09-27T20:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midcanadaaoac.org\/home\/?page_id=27608"},"modified":"2017-09-27T20:00:41","modified_gmt":"2017-09-27T20:00:41","slug":"request-for-proposal-production-editor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/midcanadaaoac.org\/home\/request-for-proposal-production-editor\/","title":{"rendered":"REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, Production Editor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL,<\/strong> Production Editor<\/p>\n<p>Mid-Canada AOAC<br \/>\nClosing Date: October 15, 2017<br \/>\nStart Date: October 25, 2017<\/p>\n<p>Goals of the Mid-Canada AOAC Newsletter (<em>Formula<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Formula<\/em> is one of the communication tools for Mid-Canada AOAC, and is meant to serve the following functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide the membership with valuable information regarding the Mid-Canada AOAC on-going and future activities<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a forum where members can share relevant knowledge, insights and experiences with their colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Act as a promotional tool to attract new members<\/li>\n<li>Generate income for the Mid-Canada AOAC through advertisements\n<p>Responsibilities of the Production Editor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preparation<\/p>\n<p>The Production Editor is responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receiving contributions for each issue of the <em>Formula<\/em>, including the President&#8217;s Message and the Editorial<\/li>\n<li>Making appropriate editorial changes to the contributions<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining on-going liaison with the Mid-Canada AOAC Board of Directors.<\/li>\n<li>Soliciting and receiving advertisements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Production Editor has the right to make editorial changes and to e-publish\/print all material received except for material that is contrary to the mandate or the objectives of Mid-Canada AOAC.<\/p>\n<p>Layout and Format of the <em>Formula<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em>Formula<\/em> is published in 8.5\u201d X 11\u201d format and is published in colour<\/li>\n<li>Each issue of the Formula shall consist of at least sixteen 8.5\u201d X 11\u201d pages excluding cover pages. This means there shall be at least thirty two pages of material including advertisements<\/li>\n<li>The Production Editor is responsible for the layout, formatting and compiling of the material including the advertisements<\/li>\n<li>Creating an electronic\/print ready file from which printers can print the copies of the <em>Formula<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Distribution<\/p>\n<p>The Production Editor will assist in coordinating online or mail-out preparations.<\/p>\n<p>Advertising Revenue<\/p>\n<p>The Proponent shall propose an advertising revenue sharing <em>formula<\/em> and will factor the income from advertisements into the quote submitted to MID-CANADA AOAC<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Production Editor is responsible for contacting advertisers and collecting the revenue<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the calendar year the Production Editor is required to submit to the Treasurer an itemized statement of advertisement revenues received<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of English and demonstrated superior writing skills is prerequisite<\/li>\n<li>The experience working with professional organizations and publishing scientific content will be an asset\n<p>Financial Proposal by Mid-Canada AOAC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proponent shall receive $250 per issue. Currently 2 issues per year. The Proponent will receive portion of the advertising revenue<\/p>\n<p>Length of contract<\/p>\n<p>Initial contract<\/p>\n<p>The length of the contract with the MID-CANADA AOAC is for a period of one (1) year. Proposals should clearly indicate exact start\/end dates meeting this length of time.<\/p>\n<p>Renewal<\/p>\n<p>The MID-CANADA AOAC may renew the contract once for an additional two (2) years at its discretion.<\/p>\n<p>Cancellation<\/p>\n<p>Either the MID-CANADA AOAC or the contractor may cancel the contract at any time with ninety (90) days written notice.<\/p>\n<p>All proposals should be submitted to the MID-CANADA AOAC by October 20, 2017 to:<\/p>\n<p>PO Box 46091 Westdale PO<br \/>\n6670 Roblin Blvd<br \/>\nWinnipeg, Manitoba R3R 3S3<\/p>\n<p>204 202.9480<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:president@midcanadaaoac.org\">president@midcanadaaoac.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Any questions requiring clarification should be submitted in writing to the Mid-Canada AOAC in a timely manner so that a response can be provided to all proponents.
